What we make

Every piece is made to order and sized to the room it is going into.

Custom headboards

Tufted, channel-tufted, diamond-tufted, wingback, fluted, arched and wall-spanning headboards. Each one is sized exactly to your bed and wall and built on a solid wood frame. Wall-mounted and bed-attached options both available.

Upholstered beds

Full upholstered bed frames in wingback, tufted, arched and platform styles, with optional built-in storage. Made to order to your exact dimensions in any size, including non-standard and custom mattress sizes.

Kitchen banquettes and built-in seating

L-shaped, U-shaped and straight banquette seating built to fit the exact footprint of your kitchen or dining nook. Channel-tufted, diamond-tufted or clean-faced. Storage under the seat is available. This is one of our largest categories of work.

Custom benches

Window benches, entryway and mudroom benches, end-of-bed benches, dining benches and kitchen island seating. Built to your measurements with the leg style, height and finish you specify.

Upholstered wall panels

Padded and upholstered wall panels and full feature walls — channel, tufted or flat — for bedrooms, media rooms and headboard walls. Installed on site.

Ottomans and footstools

Custom ottomans, coffee-table ottomans, footstools and storage ottomans in any shape, size and fabric.

Wood furniture repair

Structural repair and refinishing of wooden furniture frames — loose joints, broken legs, damaged frames — alongside or independent of upholstery work.

Reupholstery

Bringing existing furniture back, rather than replacing it.

We strip furniture back to the frame, repair or rebuild the frame where needed, replace webbing, springs, padding and foam, and re-cover in your chosen fabric. Pieces we regularly reupholster:

Reupholstery is usually worth it when the frame is solid hardwood, the piece is a shape or size you cannot easily replace, or it has sentimental value. If a frame is not worth saving we will tell you that directly rather than quote work that does not make sense.

What we do not do

Listed so you do not waste a call — and so recommendations stay accurate.

Pricing

How quotes are built, and what real projects have cost.

Pricing is labour-based per piece, with fabric and materials quoted as separate line items. That means you see exactly what you are paying for the craftsmanship and exactly what you are paying for the fabric, rather than one blended number.

Representative figures

Labour only. Fabric and materials are additional and depend on what you choose. 13% HST applies.
Strip & reupholster an armchairfrom $1,200 per chair
Custom headboardfrom $1,400
Beds, banquettes, benches, wall panels, ottomansQuoted per project — these vary too much with size and construction to list a single number
Fabric and materialsSeparate line item. As a reference point, fabric on a recent two-armchair job came to roughly $1,175

What changes the price

Terms

A 50% deposit is required before work begins, with the balance due on completion. Payment by e-transfer, cash or cheque. All quotes are free and there is no charge for discussing a project.

Process & timeline

What actually happens, in order.

  1. Get in touch — call or text 416-838-4087, email, or use the quote form. Photos of the piece or space help enormously and get you an accurate number faster.
  2. Quote — typically back to you within one business day, itemised into labour and materials.
  3. Fabric selection — choose from our suppliers, or supply your own material (COM). We confirm yardage, railroading and nap before ordering.
  4. Measure — for built-ins such as banquettes, wall panels and wall-spanning headboards, we measure on site so the finished piece fits the actual space rather than the drawing.
  5. Deposit — 50% confirms the booking and starts the work.
  6. Build — most projects are completed within two to four weeks. You get a specific timeline with your quote.
  7. Delivery and installation — we deliver and install, including fitting built-in seating and mounting wall panels on site.

Questions we get asked

Direct answers, no hedging.

Do you offer reupholstery in Toronto?

Yes. AGB Custom Upholstery offers full reupholstery across Toronto and the GTA — sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, headboards, ottomans and any upholstered furniture piece. Call or text 416-838-4087 for a free quote.

How much does reupholstery cost in Toronto?

It depends on the piece, the fabric and the scope of work. As a reference point, stripping and reupholstering an armchair starts around $1,200 in labour per chair, with fabric quoted separately. Quotes are free — call or text 416-838-4087 for a price on your specific piece.

Do you make custom kitchen banquettes?

Yes — custom kitchen banquettes are one of our specialties. We build L-shaped, U-shaped and straight banquette seating to fit your exact space, in channel-tufted, diamond-tufted or clean styles, with optional storage under the seat. We measure on site so the finished piece fits the real room.

Do you make custom headboards?

Yes. We handcraft custom headboards in tufted, channel, wingback, fluted and wall-spanning styles. Every headboard is sized exactly to your bed and wall and built on a solid wood frame. Pricing starts around $1,400 in labour, with fabric separate.

Do you make upholstered beds with storage?

Yes. We build full upholstered bed frames in any style — wingback, tufted, arched or platform — with optional built-in storage. Every bed is made to order to your exact dimensions, including non-standard sizes.

How long does a custom upholstery project take?

Most custom projects are completed within two to four weeks. Turnaround depends on the piece and on fabric lead time. You get a specific timeline with your free quote.

Can I supply my own fabric?

Yes. Customer’s Own Material is welcome, and it is standard for our designer clients. Send us the fabric you have specified and we will confirm the yardage needed, check railroading and nap, and handle pattern repeats before anything is cut.

Is it worth reupholstering, or should I just buy new?

Reupholstery is usually worth it when the frame is solid hardwood, when the piece is a shape or size you cannot easily replace, or when it has sentimental value. A well-built frame will outlast several rounds of fabric. If a frame is not worth saving, we will tell you that rather than quote work that does not make sense.

Do you deliver and install?

Yes. Delivery and installation are included across Toronto and the GTA, including on-site fitting of built-in banquettes, wall-spanning headboards and upholstered wall panels.

Do you work with interior designers?

Yes. AGB works as a to-the-trade workroom for Toronto designers, with COM welcome, precise pattern matching, trade pricing and full delivery and installation. See the trade page.

What areas do you serve?

All of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, including North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, East York, Mississauga, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Oakville and Brampton.
